IASRD organized the 5th “Seminar on Bio-fuel for sustainable Growth” on 8th august 2008 jointly with Karnataka Council for Technological Upgradation (A joint venture of Govt. of Karnataka and Govt. of India), at Bangalore. The primary objective of the Seminar was to promote awareness, organize various stake- holders on one plate form and to identify the waste-land for plantation of Jatropha.
Shri D.H. Shankaramurthy, Hon’ble Deputy Chairman, State Planning Board, Govt. of Karnataka was the Chief Guest. The eminent Speakers from Oil Industry, Sugar Industry,KREDEL,KSTRC,BMTC, KSFIC, Forest Deptt and Bio-Energy Mission Cell, Govt. of U.P.presented papers at the seminar.  Delegates from oil & Sugar industry, Railways, cement plants, Govt. of India and Govt. of Karnataka, Panchayati Raj institutions participated in the seminar .The wide ranging topics covered at the seminar included Field and Laboratory Experiments, Jatropha plantation as raw material Base and use of ethanol  in biofuel production and promotion of Bio-diesel amongst others.
