| The main objective of Institute of Applied Systems and Rural Development (IASRD) is to act as catalyst in promoting development of rural areas through applied systems and appropriate technologies. Since its inception in 1982, IASRD is engaged in varied developmental programmes ranging from fomulation and training of Self Help Groups under Swaran Jayanti Gram Swarojgar Yojna (SJGSY) and their development into micro enterprises, propogation of Jatropha plantation & promotion of bio-diesel thereof, environment protection, afforestation programmes,domestic lighting through solar energy in off-grid areas, conservation of natural rsources,adult education, women empowerment and health, particularly family welfare, amongst others. |
